The Details

Alfie is Jodie’s first homebred out of Primitive Rising TB mare Lady Tiggi Winkle who she produced to Intermediate & CCI 3* level and by the prolific stallion Jumbo, who has sired many world class event horses such as CCI-L 4* winner Headley Britannia.

Alfie is a typical Jumbo stamp in his looks, he is very athletic with a massive stride and scope to burn. His talent and quality are unquestionable and consequently reflect in his results and the speed at which he has climbed the grades.

As a 6yo he jumped 10 back to back double clears at Novice and Intermediate level, finishing with a fantastic 12th place in the CCI-S 2* in Waregem, Belgium. The following year he consolidated his form with a double clear in the 7 year old Championships at Osberton CCI-S 3* making nothing of the fences. Having jumped another foot perfect double clear at Houghton CCI-L 3* in 2015, Alfie then stepped up to advanced with ease finishing 3rd at Wellington. He ended the season with a fantastic clear round XC in the CCI-S 4* at Blenheim and a 6th place at Weston Park CCI-L 3*.

This little horse has all the qualities to go all the way and having been purchased by Hazel Livesey in 2016, he has continued to be produced with that in mind. Qualified for CCI-L 5* level at the young age of 9, Alfie has proven to be a top class horse on the International stage with already a number of Team GB appearances and top 10 results at 4* level.

More recently in 2019 with his new jockey James Avery, Alfie won the CCI-S 4* at Ballindenisk and placed 12th and one of only two horses to finish on their dressage score at Boekelo in the CCI-L 4*. These competitive results have put this exciting combination on the NZ Eventing Long List for the Tokyo Olympics, what an accomplishment for Jodie's first ever homebred!
