Matt was the horse who kicked started Jodie's career, climbing the grades together from BE100 all the way up to CCI-L 5* level. He had the biggest heart one could wish for and overcame all physical challenges through his unbelievable desire to do his job showing how temperament can often outweigh talent. 

Matt, owned by one of Jodie’s good friends Caroline Messeca, arrived in England half way through his 8 year old year where a change of career for Caroline meant he was looking for a new home. Matt was the very picture of a classic thoroughbred event type, with a bold and careful jumping technique, galloping was second nature to him and nothing could beat the feeling of ease he showed across country. He was however, a real character, a horse who worked a lot on confidence with whom Jodie formed a true bond and a special partnership.

Career highlights include numerous Intermediate wins and Advanced placings, 10th place at Houghton Hall CCI-L 3* 2009, 2nd places at both Houghton Hall CCI-S 4* 2010 and Chatsworth CCI-S 4* 2011 and a 6th place at Bramham CCI-L 4* 2012. Jodie always had the utmost confidence and belief in this little horse who in turn exceeded all outside expectations of him, participating at the pinnacle of the sport at both Badminton and Burghley CCI-L 5*.

A real credit to the team that looked after Matt throughout his career, he has never missed a season competing and to this day is still winning rosettes, this time back in France with Caroline! Matt will always mean the world to both Jodie and Caroline, undoubtedly a horse of a lifetime who has given them everything.
